The Mobile community is mourning the loss of Alex Jensen, who passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at his home in Mobile at the age of 32.
Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Alex was a beloved son, brother, friend, and U.S. Army veteran whose life was defined by service, adventure, and meaningful relationships.
Alex graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School before attending McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, graduating in 2012. He later attended Auburn University, where he developed a lifelong love for Auburn athletics and proudly remained an enthusiastic War Eagle fan.
In 2018, Alex enlisted in the United States Army, serving with the 4th Army as an Advanced Defense Early Warning System Operator. During his military career, he was deployed to Doha, Qatar, in support of Operation Spartan Shield. In recognition of his dedicated service, he received the Army Achievement Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal before being honorably discharged in 2021.
After leaving the military, Alex embraced life with an adventurous spirit, living in Bozeman, Montana; Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and eventually returning home to Mobile. He loved live music, stand-up comedy, and cherished the many close friendships he formed across the country.
Alex is survived by his loving parents, Linda and Brad Jensen of Mobile; his sisters, Karen of Mobile and Grace of Washington, D.C.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are heartbroken by his passing and will forever cherish his memory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1453 Old Shell Road, Mobile, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception on the school grounds beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Veteran’s Recovery Resources in Mobile.
Alex Jensen will be remembered for his patriotism, adventurous spirit, loyalty to family and friends, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
