The Grainger County community is mourning the loss of Doug McBee, a longtime high school basketball coach and educator who died in a tragic tractor rollover accident on his farm.
According to the Grainger County Sheriff’s Office, McBee was killed in the accident, which occurred while he was working on his property. He was 73 years old.
Doug McBee dedicated many years of his life to Grainger High School, where he served as both a basketball coach and educator. Throughout his career, he became a beloved figure in the community, remembered not only for his contributions to athletics but also for the profound impact he had on generations of students.
