The Columbus construction community is mourning the loss of James “Jim Cammp” Campanella, a respected builder and longtime friend whose passing has left colleagues and loved ones deeply saddened.
A heartfelt tribute shared by a close friend revealed that Campanella had been a friend for more than 40 years and a trusted colleague in the construction industry through Columbus Construction and Campanella Construction.
According to the tribute, Campanella fought a long battle with his health before peacefully letting go.
“Today found out that I lost a friend of 40 years,” the tribute read. “He was a great man, wise. He fought a long time with his health and finally it was time to let go.”
Campanella’s legacy is expected to continue through his son, James Campanella, who now carries forward the family’s work in the construction business.
Friends and colleagues remembered Jim as a wise, hardworking, and respected man whose impact on those around him will not be forgotten.
“Jim Cammp, rest in peace, you will be missed greatly,” the tribute concluded. “It is your time to rest and let the younger generation take over. Love you.”
