It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Eilish Doherty (née Harrison), who died surrounded by her loving and devoted children, Terry, Cliodhna, Cormac, and John.
Eilish was a much-loved mother and grandmother whose warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her family has shared that Eilish will repose at her home, 73 Velsheda Park, Belfast. They respectfully request that Thursday, July 23, be reserved for family only, while friends are welcome to call from July 24 onward to pay their respects.
A celebration of Eilish’s life will take place on July 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, followed by burial at Belfast City Cemetery. Refreshments will be served afterward at the Lower Falls Social Club on Cyprus Street from 1:00 p.m.
The family has also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Eilish during her final three weeks.
Eilish is now at peace in the loving arms of her beloved son, Pearse, who preceded her in death.
Eilish Doherty will be remembered with love by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
